Congratulations to Jeremy Hatch who has
been awarded the Jumpstart Scholarship
to continut his studies at the Emily Carr
Institute of Art and Design.

The Foundation is now able to confirm
that it is partnering with the Adult Leam-
ing Development Association (ALDA) for
the upcoming From the Oven and Kiln
fundraiser, Profits from ticket sales will be

divided equally between the two organiza-
tions. The event will take place on October
29, 6:4) PM atthe Delta Pacific Resoet and
Conference Centre in Richmond. Since
ALDA has contacts in the husiness world
we anlicipaie higher ticket sales and a
much larger event. Plans include live mu-
sic for the evening, a Halloween theme for
decorating the tables and a large silent
auction that will continue over the course
of the dinner. Proceeds from the silent
auction will accrue to the partner provid-
ing the item, The Delta Pacifie Centre is
willing to provide display and demonstra
lion space for artisans who are willing to
help publicize the event. See IMPOR-

Twe more groups have volunteered to
give plate decorating workshops; they are
the Roundhouse Community Centre and
John Cloutier in his own studio, Since our
goal 13 to sell 200 tickets we need at beast

sibility of making a video of workshop
activities which would be shown during
the dinner.

The Foundation has written a letter,
thoughefully composed by Julia Maika, to
he Odd Fellows Society requesting funds
io purchase and distribute copies Of Made
of Clay: the Ceramics of British Colum-
bia to all the high schools, colleges and
universities in BC, We anticipate some
feedback after the Society has had a meet-
Inf.

I want to remind those who may be con-
lemplating summer workshops that appli
cations to the Maureen Wright Scholar-
ship fund may be made at any ume. The
maximum award is $200.00,

Gallery of BC Ceramics beginning July t.
