We have received notification there will be a special seminar by the University
of British Colurbia that would pond interest to our firemen. The seminar is
antitled "The Prinary Care of the Emergency Patient". The program for the
seminar is showr on the attached sheet. The tuition fee for this seminar is
$20.06 per applicsint and the on%y other cost associated with this would be
perhaps lunch for the menmbers auttecaling and their mileage.

The Fire Chief ard one of the firemen attended thie course at its last session.
The Fire Colet feels that the course is definitely pertinent to the firemen
operating the rescue vehicle and has requested that Council authorize the
attendance of five of the firemen to this years session. Shifts can be arranged
to permit the attendance of five men. I have spoken to the chairman of the
Fire Conmittee, Alderman Meyer, and he agrees that we should take advantage of
the course. I would recommend that we authorize the attendance of five firemen

at this course,
