City Engineer Andrew de Boer Project Engineer DATE: March 19, 1992 SUBIECT: DRAINAGE PROBLEM, 1600 & 1800 BLOCK MARY HILL ROAD RECOMMENDATIONS 1) That a R.E.D. pak underdrain system be installed behind the sidewalk on the 1600 Block Mary Hill Road at a cost of $6,000. 2) That a perforated drain system be installed behind the sidewalk on the 1800 Block Mary Hill Road at a cost of $8,5u0, | BACKGROUND & COMMENTS Mr. John Prins of 1820 Mary Hill Road requested corrective action for a drainage problem in front of his horne. Upon investigation by the Operations Department additional drainage problems were found in front of 1612 and 1620 Mary Hill Road. Drainage water is weeping from the east boulevard embankment and over the sidewalk. This could be hazardous to pedestrians in the winter weather when the water on the sidewalk freezes. For the 1800 Block Mary Hill it is proposed to correct this problem with a 150 mim dia. perforated drain system which would be installed at the back of the sidewalk to intercept the water and carry it to the storm system (see attached diagram). Cost: 75 m of 150 mm dia. perforated c/w drain rock and filter fabric, 3 lawn basins at 25 m spacing typ., boulevard restoration tisteceeseeserseneere BD Oy IOO
