July 8th, 1974 The Planning Officer spoke briefly to the various points contained in his report, and Aiderman Ranger spoke to recommendations set forth in a memo- randum from the Planning & Zoning Committee, July 4th, 1974, relevant to the repert of the Planning Officer, and he pointed out that the policy objective sought is the regulation of growth by controlling rezonings from RS~2 to RS-l and to provide the staff with criteria to guide them in dealing with the public. Alderman Traboulay referred to recommendation No. i in the Committee"s memorandum proposing to limit the number of single-family dwellings to 300 over the next 12 months, and he proposed the following amendment: Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the figure "300" where it appears in recommendation No. 1 of a memorandum from the Planning & Zoning Committee, July 4th, 1974, be amended to read ''200". Defeated. Alderman Traboulay voted in favour of the resolution. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as recommended in a memorandum from the Planning & Zoning Commit- tee, July 4th, 1974, the number of single-family dwellings (including low~ density tawn-houses in all KS zones by rezoning}, be limited to 300 over the next 12 months and the distribution of these units be as follows: (a). Port Coquitlam South 100 units over the next 12 months with review in January, 1974. Rezon- ing of RS-2 subject to services available. Coast Meridian West 150 units over the next 12 months. No rezoning of RS-2 to RS-1 until after the review in January, 1975. Coast Meridian East It is the hope of the Committee that the number of units be Limited to 50, with review in January, 1975. Rezoning of RS-2 subject to services available. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing proposed resolution, an amendment was proposed: Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the foregoing proposed resolution be amended by striking out the last sentence in each of items (a) and (c) thereof and substituting, in each case, the last sentence as set forth in item (b). Carried. Aldermen Ranger, Mabbett, and Thompson voted against the resolution.
