October 19th, 1981. ยง/5, From the Public Works Committee, October 8th, 1981 regarding traffic PWC, Oct. 8/81 turning in the 2200 Block Fraser Avenue. re Traffic - r 2200 Bik. Fraser, Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That as recommended by the Public Works Committee, October 8th, 1981 "No U-Turn" signs be installed along the 2200 Block Fraser Avenue; AND THAT the Department of Highways be requested to give permission for installation of a directional sign on the Lougheed Highway indicating the City center. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution Alderman Wright stated in his opinion installing signs would not solve the problem; Alderman Mabbett referred to the problem of vehicles turning left onto the Lougheed Highway; Alderman Gates stated in his opinion a directional sign would not solve the traffic problem on Fraser Avenue; and Alderman Keryluk referred to the problem with traffic turning left. onto the Lougheed Highway. Alderman Traboulay advised the Committee's recommendations were only a partial solution and that the Public Works Committee will be meeting further on this problem on October 20th, 1981. Alderman Muldoon referred to a suggestion regarding curbing of this street and the City Engineer advised it would involve extensive engineering work and would be costly. From the Public Works Committee, October 8th, 1981 regarding the PWC, Oct. 8/81 re Langan Ave. relocation of Langan Avenue. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That as recommended by the Public Works Committee, October 8th, 1981 Road "A" as outlined on the attached map be approved for the future plan for Langan Avenue and the Planning and Zoning Committee and the Land Sales Committee consider the disposition of che remainder of Langan Avenue and the City-owned land; AND THAT the construction of Road "A" be a requirement of any proposal involving the sale of the City-owned land.
