Monthly gathering gives local
seniors something fun to do

A SPECIAL seniors tea is

hosted every third Wed-

nesday of the month at the

Terrace Pentecostal As-

sembly.

The. tea was started by

Elsie Hull back in 1998,

The idea came to her

after. a visit to Terraceview

Lodge for Fred Gibbs’ 90th

birthday. Elsie thought,

wouldn't it-be nice to have
more gatherings like this

_ together?

Elsie went home and
thought about this for
awhile. Then she approa-
ched the church for per-
mission to hold a special
tea for seniors.

It’s now in its fourth
year.

_ Elsie and her ‘friends
(ladies of the church) start
their ‘day by gathering at
the church at 9:30 a.m.,
working all moming pre-
paring - and making sure
that every thing is just
right.”

and begins with Elsie say-
‘ing grace. Then the seniors
are treated to a wonderful

afternoon.

~- Elsie, along with a few

friends, are responsible for

baking all the fancy good-
ies with some vegetable
and fruit trays, delicious

punch and tea and coffee.

All of this is so thought-
fully served to the seniors
at tables that are tastefully
decorated with bouquets of
fresh flowers.

Once the tea has been
served and enjoyed by
everyone, the rest of the
afternoon is spent with
some special entertain-
ment, with everyone join-
ing in and singing hymns
and listening te some biue
grass music selected by
Don and Elsie Hull,

The tea attracts up to me omen GLASSES and CONTACTS
