September 9th, 1974 /13, a discussion ensued and Alderman Laking stated he would like to see Subsection (5) set forth under the Section specifying Uses Permitted defined more clearly before the Council votes on the matter, and Alderman Thompson stated he would like to have Subsections (11) and (12) clarified also. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the above-stated resolution concerning amendments proposed to the "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" with respect to specifying the Uses Permitted and revisions to Lot Size and Siting Requirements in the M-2 (General Industrial) ZONE, be tabled and referred back to the Planning Officer for clarifi- cation of Subsections (5), (11), and (12) set forth under the Section "Uses Per- mitted". Prior to the question being called on the above-stated resolution, the mover and seconder thereof agreed to accept the following motion in its place: That all the regulations proposed to amend the Industrial Zone section of the "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" as submitted with a re- port from the Planning Officer, September 6th, 1974, be tabled for two weeks and referred back to the Planning Officer for clarification. From the City Administrator, September 6th, 1974, concerning the problem of City Adm.re Firearms © starlings attacking blueberry crops in the Prairie Road-Devon Road area, and advi- B/law(crop protection) sing that the information on control received from the Department of Apriculture through the Department of Health (probably well-known to any of the farmers in the area), includes the use of carbide guns, traps, etc. with apparently no new met- hods having been developed. The City Administrator, in his Yeport, further ad- vised that the Firearms By-law, Section 2, permits a person to use a firearm for the protection of his domestic animals, and suggested that the Council may wish to consider enlarging this Section to include farm crops, although this does broaden the application of the Section. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That Section 2(a) of the "City of Port Coquitlam Firearms Prohibition By-law, 1972, No. 1220" be amended by inserting therein the words ‘farm crops or" between the words “his” and “domestic animals" where they appear therein.
