':-.j'-: II Jim Nsitland outlined to the Parks & Recreation Committee the memorandum on Park DCC that he had given to us. The Committee wished further details as to where the various aspect:s of monies for parks wore being taken from and what accounts they were being put into. In pazticular, concerns were expz.essed around the sale of land on Wilson Avenue in regard to the tennis courts. Jim Maitland indicated that he would report back with a detailed report to the Parks & Recreation Committee. Nr. Pelfp indicated that it might be appropriate foz the City to participate financially in an expanded pedestrian overpass which would enhance a viewing area over the river. Connnitiee thought this was a good idea . The Connnittee indicated that they had some concerns in regard to access across the PoCo Trail ard in particular with wheelchairs. Carlos indicated that we could have Shimizu identify times when the logging operation would be able to stop so that wheelchairs could actually go across the dyke area. Recommendation: generally accepted the principal of the overpass as described by Carlos. Recommendation That the concept of selling the Iot be taken to Administration Committee for corsiderati'on'and that the monies from the sale of the lot be redirected into the parks fund. . Carried .
