SUBJECT: AWARD OF TENDER - ONE BACK HOE AND ONE DUMP TRUCK
1993 PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
(Public Works Committee Meeting of April 27 & May 4, 1993)

RECOMMENDATIONS:

That Counci! award the tender to supply a 75 horse power diesel back hoe
complete ~ith hoe ram to Case Power and Equipment Ltd. at the tendered cost of
$74,803.91 (including taxes).

2) That Council award the supply of a single axle dump truck complete with sander
and ploughs to Metro Motors at the tendered cost of $133,072.47 (including taxes).

3) That $207,876.38 be allocated from the Public Works Equipment Replacement
Reserve fund for this purpose.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

It is proposed to replace a back hoe and tandem axle dump truck this vear under the City’s
Public Works Equipment Replacement Program.

Attached are tender summaries of the bids received to supply the back hoe and the dump tnuck.
It is recommended that Council accept the tender from Case Power and Equipment Ltd. to
supply a 580 Case Back Hoe complete with a Stanley MB350 Hoe Ram at the tendered price of
$74,803.91. It is recommended that Council accept Metro Motors’s bid to supply a Ford LTS
8000 Tandem Dump Truck complete with box.sander and plough at the tendered price of

$133,072,47 (including taxes).
