The following members of the Guild have been nominated and agreed to stand for clection: Dawn McNamara, West Vancouver; With the theory “keep close and involved with what you love to do", Dawn has worked with clay since 1986, and says that pottery was the catalyst for quitting her 9 to 5 job and slarting her own business. She needed more free time to take clay classes al Capilano College. Her business, McNamara Marketing and Communications, involves her in travel and the travel industry, publishing, and giving marketing and communications seminars, Enthusiastic to be more involved in her avocation, and with a desire to see more local interactive workshops and opportunities for learning, Dawn welcomes a chance to contribute her time and attention to the Potters’ Guild of B.C. Joe Nagel, Surrey: As Curator of the M.¥. Williams Geological Museum al the University of British Columbia, Joe has an interest in ‘all things crystalline’, and has used his communicative and photographic skills to effectively convey this interest and passion. In his CV he says, “Working effectively with people requires effective ) Communications. Verbal, written and visual communication skills are vital to the museum enterprise”, and, no dowbt he would add, to any organization. He has written and produced a video about mineral collecting, been instrumental in establishing the Collector Shop at the Geological Museum, and in 1993, in managing a gem exhibit "The Cutting Edge". He has been an active computer user for over fifteen years, and was a councillor of the BC Museums Association from 1984-86.
