The Arts Centre ls situated im Deer Lake Park, Just off Canada Way, and close to the freeway. It's very easy to gel to ard we had hoped thal a place more central to the Greater Vancouver area would encourage more people to attend. The studio space is very pleasant and there is plenty of room for parking. Our strategy may have been successful, as itwas avery different group that watched Takako applying her beautiful fluid designs to the clay slabs, cutting surprising shapes and ingeniously plecing them together to form her footed bowls. We were also delighted by the slides showing a great variety of work, some functional and some sculptural, and by her explanations of the symbolism of her patterns. Thanks to Takako for a really enjoyable evening. Terry Saimoto filmed this workshop and made the arrangements, so thanks also to Terry and those who helped at the Burnaby Arts Centre. We hope to have more workshops there in the future and encourage you to take advantage of them. Qur meetings are supposed to be held on alternate months so we will not be having one in November. | am aure we are all too busy during that month, anyway, but we are planning to have asoclal evening on December 5th when we hope you will take the opportunity to see some of the videos that have been made over the last few months, A message will be left on the answering machine at 683-9623 to let you know location and lime on the first Thursday evening in December.
