Sept. 20th, 1982. /3D- Moved by Alderman Gates; Seconded by Alderman Muldoon: That the Mayor appoint an ad hoc committee to study the costs «and facility requirements in hosting the B.C. Summer Games with the possibility of hosting the B.C. Summer Games sometime in the future. Aldermen Laking and Vater voted against the resolution. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution Alderman Laking suggested that the committee look into the possibility of a bid for the 1986 B.C..Summer Games. Moved by Alderman Lakina: ‘Seconded by Alderman Muldoon: That the resolution be amended to include a bid for the 1986 B.C. Summer Games. Defeated. Aldermen Laking and Muldoon voted in favour of the resolution. Mayor Traboulay then appointed Alderman M.R. Wright, Chairman, of the ad hoc committee and Alderman M.D. Gates to serve with him, v-th the City Engineer, Director of Community Planning and Recreation Director as required.
