THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO: B. Kirk, City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters., P. Eng., City Engineer SUBJECT: Stop Signs - Public Works Committee, February 22nd, 1983 RECOMMENDATION: That STOP signs be installed at the following locations: a) On Kelly Avenue at Reeve Street b) On Reeve Street at Wilson Avenue BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: There is poor visibility at the intersection of Kelly Avenue and Reeve Street. because of trees in the northeast corner. Although we have no record of accidents at this location over the past several years, a STOP sign would be justified on the basis of visibility. Wilson Avenue is considered to be a major road. It will become more.so if it is extended through to a new Coquitlam River crossing. In the meantime with the additional traffic to the recreation facilities and the Motocross track it, would be advisable to control traffic at this intersection. As Reeve Street meets Wilson Avenue in a "T", Reeve Street is the one which should be stopped. : ML. 7F.E. Petergv, P. Eng-; City Engineer FEP/sqg R&S
