Background & Commente

The initial proposal of a 30m dyke through Lions Park caused much
concern with staff and City Council.

asphalt pathway through the park, (as shown in the map). The pathway
would be 12 foot wide with a four to one slope.

The cost of the asphalt pathway and adjacent landscaping would be the
responsibility of the provincial/federal government. The height of
this pathway would be approximately one metre. From a staff

perspective this alternate solution appears to answer the concerns in
regard to the loss of trees,
