The Inaugural Ceremonies and Statutory Meeting of the Municipal
Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam were held in
the Gymnasium of the Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, 1379 Laurier Avenue,
Port Coquitlam, B. C. on December 5th, 1977, at 8:00 p.m.

His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking,

Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance.

Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock,
City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., City Planning
Officer Lanson Lee, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, City Treasurer J.G.S.
Maitland, Senior Building Inspector N. Chernoff, Fire Chief W.S.

Wingrove, Assistant City Engineer L. Melnechenko, Mrs. M. Warwick, and

Mrs. D.L. Vyse.

His Worship Mayor Campbell thanked Judge Giles for his attendance;

also, he expressed appreciation to the Royal Bank of Canada for

hosting the pre~Inaugural dinner this evening at the PoCo Valley Golf &

Country Club and introduced Officials of the Bank who were present: Mr.
Derek Nicholls, Manager, Port Coquitlam Branch, and Mrs. Nicholls, Mr.
and Mrs. Bradford, Port Coquitlam Branch. .‘ayor Campbell then introduced
Mrs. Zola of Kilmer Elementary School and her grade five class, Mr. Bill
Lane of the Greater Vancouver Regional District, and Mrs. Lane, School.
Trustee Mrs. Jacquie Boyer, Judge F.C. Giles, and Mrs. Giles. He also thanked
R.C.M.P. Constables Aune and Blanchet who were on duty as Guard of
