Alderman Ranger advised. that a supply of ‘Kinsmen July Ist Sports

Carnival flyers -have been placed. ona table in the Council Chamber this-

evening and are available for pick-up by the public.

At the request of Mayor.:Campbkell, the City Administrator then read a

press release prepared by the School Board onthe meeting in Victoria recently

attended by representatives of Council, the Schoo Board, -the Association

of Concerned Citizens, .and the Wrong Side of the Tracks Action Association,

noting that the Department of Education will not participate in the cost of

constructing the- proposed covered swimming pool facility on Laurier Avenue

acress from the George Pearkes Junior Secondary School, and that portable

classrooms will be provided where required aS. an interim measure prior to

new school: construction.
