BACKGROUND, PROPOSALS AND COMMENTS

Currently the booster Pumps at Fenny Flace need to be activated and
de-activated manually according to demand variations at Mary Hill. This
arrangement is not satisfactory for the follawing reasons:

1. There is an unacceptably long response time between registering
the drop in pressure at the top of Mary Hill and the actual
switching on of the booster pumps. Usually the pressure drop is
not noticed until a complaint is received. ‘
