emergency, and for that purpose the Participating Municipality
agrees that at the request of any other participating municipality
within its zone it will provide to such requesting municipality
any portable radio or radios covered by this agreement that it may
have in its pessession and which are required in an emergency.

10._ The Participating Municipality, during the useful life
of the Participating Municipality's Equipment (and any replace-
ments thereof) and the portable radios referred to in section 8
above will maintain the Participating Municipality's Equipment
in accordance with the maintenance schedule set out in Schedule
"BE" hereto. |

11... 7 “The Participating Municipality will operate and test the
Participating Municipality's Equipment and provide portable radios
pursuant to section 9 in accordance with practices and protocols

estaplished from time to time by the Regional Emergency Planning

12... GVRD will inspect and test the Participating Munici-~ |
pality’s Equipment and any. portable radios in its possession and
the Central Equipment once every year during the term of this
agreement and will issue to the Participating Municipality and all
other participating municipalities @ report on the state of all

such equipment. The Participating Municipality will conduct such.
repair.or maintenance. as GVRD determines is necessary or desirable
if such inspection reveals that any of the Participating Munici~
pality's Equipment or any portable radios in the possession of the
Participating Municipality are not in satisfactory condition..
GVRD assumes no obligation or liability in respect of any such

inspection or testing.

L360. GVRD will purchase as part of the Central Equipment two
“repeater stations which it will Operate and maintain at the cost of
all participating. municipalities. The Participating Municipality
will pay to GVRD on or before June 1 in each year of the term .
hereof its Proportionate Share of the cost of operating the
repeater stations in each year of the term hereof. GVRD will.
advise, the. Participating Municipality of the amount of its Propor-
tionate Share of such costs on or before March 3lst in each year

of the term hereof,

14. |. GVRD shall, as soon as practicable, apply for a JEPP .
grant and the Participating Municipality shall do all such things
as. may be necessary or desirable to facilitate such application.
If. -GVRD. is successful in obtaining a JEPP grant, it will be
entitled to reimburse itself for its administrative expenses in
obtaining the equipment: and the JEPP grant and GVRD will pay the
Participating Municipality its Proportionate Share of the balance
of the JEPP grant,
