SUBJECT: 1992 PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROGRAM CONTRACT AWARD

That Council award the milling and overlaying work to Jack Cewe Ltd. based on
the tendered price of $240,201.53.

That Council allocate the funds for this work from the 1992 Road Resurfacing
Budget.

_ BACKGROUND

The City invited tenders from five companies for the milling and paving of various City roads
and received five submissions, of which Jack Cewe Ltd. was the lowest bid at $240,201.53.

‘Work to three roadways, noted in the attached memorandum from the Project Engineer dated
August 7, 1992 were previously presented and approved by Council. ,

Two additional sections of roadway were added to this contract, namely 1600 Block Langan and
1900 Block Taylor. The cost of the Taylor Street work will be applied to the 1992 Road
Resurfacing budget and the cost of Langan work will be charged to CW 138-05. |

A consultant will be hired to carry out limited field inspection for this project, specifically the
reconstruction work on McLean Avenue.
