Eng., FILE: 900-247, CW 26] Deputy City Engineer SUBJECT: PUMP CONTROL SYSTEM VOR DOMINION AVENUE PUMP STATION RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) That an additional $15,500 be approved for the upgrading of the control system to the Dominion drainage pump station, 2) That the funds be allocated from the Drainage DCC’s Reserve Fund for Area 2 and ublic Works Operation. That the lowest acceptable bid received from Ross Morrison Electrical Ltd. in the amount of $29, 479.57 (including GST) be accepted. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: The present Dominion Avenue Pump Station Control system is a temporary arrangement. Proposed modifications to the station included the design of a new ultrasonic level detector to replace the existing 6 float system to control pumps 1 and 2, During the design phase further changes were recommended to include level detectors for the remaining units. The original budget for this work including engineering was $27,800. The funds originally earmarked for this work were the funds remaining from the Dominion ditch upgrade work. Tenders were called and received for this project and the attached sheet surmmarizes the bids. The lowest acceptable bid was received from Ross Morrison Electrical Ltd. in the amount of $29,479.57, ! The total cost for this project is now estimated at $43,300 which includes engineering. Accordingly, it is recommended an additional $15,500 be approved for this project and the funds be allocated from: the Area 2 Drainage DCC Reserve Fund (being 99%) and Public Works Operations, Also, the bid of $29,479.57 from Ross Morrison Electrical Ltd. be accepted. a , “a > “Ee ip, P: Eng.
