Rd.- request for fire permit investigations being carried out by the Archaeology Section of the Heritage Conservation Branch, Ministry of the Provincial Secretary to salvage an archaeological site at the foot of Pitt River Road which will be destroyed by the Mary Hill By~pass construction and a request for a fire permit at 1955 Argue Street to allow verification of information concerning several large hearths found at the site. Moved-by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That the fire permit requested by Mr. Michael Broderick, August 7th, 1979 in connection with the salvage of an archaeological site at the foot of Pitt River Road by the Archaeological Section, Heritage _ Conservation Branch, Ministry of the Provincial Secretary, to permit verification of certain information concerning the existence of several large hearths at 1955 Argue Street, be granted. He further advised that upon the final report on the finds being completed, copies would be made available to the City and the Port Coquitlam Public Library. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the Ministry of the Provincial Secretary be urged to make the time and funds immediately available to afford the opportunity for the Heritage Conservation Branch Staff to investigate the mouth of the Coquitlam River as an archaeological site.
