Dear Mayor Campbell:

The approved eligibility of your sewerage facilities programme
‘for berefits under the Sewerage Faciiities Assistance Act yields an
annual f{nancial grant from the provincial gavernment. Please find
enclosed a cheque covering the 1975 grant to which your programme is

entitled.

Since the inception of the Act last year, I have been greatly
encouraged by the enthusiastic response it has received from municipal-
ities throughout British Columbia. This response has been reflected in
a dramatic increase in the dollar amount of provincial assistance to -
municipal sewerage programmes. Many programmes have been adopted which
might otherwise have been unable to proceed. I am proud that the Act's
more generous and realistic funding criteria have allowed the province to ex--
tend a significantly higher level of aid to municipalities striving to

meet the servicing needs of their citizens.
