Give him all our love. / ‘j toe + Notice of passing Tarry Dean Walgren Terry passed away on August 28, 2003 at his parents’ home in Balfour after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, His life was filled with family, friends, sports and adventure. He was born December 23, 1962 in Nelson, and graduated from LV Rogers Senior Secondary School in 1980, He continued his educalicn at ~- Slmon‘Fraser University, Salkirk Collage, and the University of Alberta receiving his B.Sc. in Forestry in 1985. , : Terry worked as a forester residing in. Smithers, New Hazelton and Tarrace prior to relurning to Nelson where he worked unlil his iiiness forced him onto disability. Terry played hockey and soccer and basketball In his youth, and continued playing hockey and soccer as an adult allhough he was most passicnate about soccer. During his university years he played soccer for the University of Albarta Golden Baars, ha also played for teams wherever he lived, Including Vancouver, Houston, Smithers, Kisplox, Prince George and Nelson. Terry enjoyed the outdoors since childhood. He was an avid hiker, camper, rock climber, skiar and mountain biker. When Terry was not playing soccer ha could bea found exploring the wilderness on day trips or extended excursions by himself or with friends. He was an_ experienced traveler, choosing destinations “off the beaten path”.” His travels look him to England, Hong Kong, Thailand, Nepal, Singapore, Malaysia, West and East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Inuvik, India, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Israel, Japan, Cuba, and Costa Rica, and various regions of Canada and the United States. Terry always wanted ta do more; he continued to plan trips until bis death, wanting to meat - people and experience other cultures. Terry learned to play the bagpipes and was a member of the Tarraca Pipe Band and the Nelson Kootenay Kilte Pipe . Band. Ha anjoyad the music and friendship of being part of the band. Ha is survived by his parents Fred and Beryl Walgren of Balfour; brother David, his wife Brenda and their sons Jars, Petar and Geoff of Smithers; brother Bruce, his wife Karan and their children Lauren and lan of Nelson; and sister Dana and her husband Rick White of Toronto; extended sister. Bav Beaudry of Nelson, her children Janice of Calgary and Bryan of Nelson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grar ~arants Clarence and Alice Mason, and Anna Walgren, his naphew Craig Walgren and his aunt Margaret Mason. A memorial servica was held ~ at Nelsen United Church on September 2, 2003, Rev.
