This year a group of young
people participating in the
Canada World Youth program
were in your community.

We would like lo express our
sincere thanks for the

.generosity and goad will dis-

played by the people of Ter-
race towards these young Ca-
nadians and Indians who lived

and worked with them.

As with any education pro-

gram, the results are difficult

to gauge, but we do know the
participants develop awareness
of their own values, an under-
Standing of cultural dif-
ferences, desire to participate
in the development of Canada
and a will for co-operative
work between Canada and de-
veloping countries.

With this base, we are break-
ing down barter of. dis-
crimination and prejudice and
moving towards a world of
cultural acceptance,

In the words of the Canadian
statesman Lesier Pearson,
“How can there be peace
without people understanding
