Baldigara, Secretary, School District No. 43 Joint Comm. re lack o£ Family Court Family Division Committee, through the District of Coquitlam, March Workers, etc. 26th, 1976, enclosing a copy of a letter directed to the Attorney General's Office expressing the deep concern the Family Division Committee has over the lack of available Family Court Workers servicing the School District No. 43 area; requesting that the Council endorse the enclosed letter and, along with appropriate comment, forward same to the Attorney~ General of British Columbia; and advising that similar requests will be made of the Councils of Coquitlam and Port Moody and of Judge P. Byrne, the local Court Judge, Mr. D. Mathieson, Supervisor Co-ordinator of Family Relations Act Services and Mr. J. Thomson, local Welfare Administrator. Baldigara, Secretary, School District No. 43 Joint Family Division Comittee, through the District of Coquitlam, the letter dated March 26th, 1976, sent by the said Committee to The Honourable Garde B. Gardon, Attorney-General of British Columbia, wherein concern is expressed over the lack of available Family Court Workers for counselling service in the School District No. 43 area and a request made that a minimum of three Family Court Workers be made available to the Coquitlam Provincial Court together with adequate stenographic staff, working accommodations and equipment, be endorsed and the same forwarded to the Attorney- General of British Columbia. Carried. | Dist.Maple Ridge From The Corporation of the District of Maple Ridge, March 25th, ire annual Fraser “River Raft 1976, being an invitation to the Council to participate in the annual ‘Race Fraser River Raft Race being held this year on Sunday, May 23rd, 1976. Alderman Ranger advised that the Leisure Activities Committee had received a letter from some of the Recreation staff stating that they would like to build a raft to enter in the race and that the Committee would be meeting with them tomorrow in that regard; however, he would like to know Council's position with respect to financial assistance and members of Council generally agreed that in view of the City's budgetary problems this year, no aid should be provided therefore.
