Brown Director of Planning 1469 Broadway Rezoning Application Planning Deparment File No. 43/89 RECOMMENDATION: That the Clerk's Office be directed to prepare a bylaw rezoning Lot 10, D.L. 231 and 232, Grp 1 NWLD Plan 11613 from A-1 to M-1 COMMENTS: This application is to develop a multi-bay industrial building at the south end of Broadway. The Property is one of the lots that was not prezoned to an M~-1l industrial designation, because of concern about appearance from the residential neighbourhood to the west. The City has closed the portion of Brown St eet behind the property and owns a strip of land made up of 33 foot lots to the west of Brown. The road right of way and old lots are an extension of the undeveloped Kilmer Park. of the park is treated as a visual buffer west and industrial land to the east. Business uses proposed to be located in this development are warehousing and wholesale sales. The applicant is a wholesale plumbing and electrical supplier. Bays in the building the owner will not be occupying are proposed to be rented for warehousing .
