Mayor and Council June 10th, 1976 Alderman M.A. Thompson On Wednesday, June 9th, I had a rather dong conversation with our Provincial Member, George Kerster. He was most distressed that we (Council) felt that his trip to Port Coquitlam with Mr. Fraser to personally view the Lougheed situation was looked on as a waste of time, a stalling tactic, or a "crock of garbage". He reiterated that it was a genuine interest of both he and Mr. Fraser to see first hand the problems and obtain an overview of the total problem, including the concerns expressed about the movement of school children. He again confirmed that the montes allocation originally denied has been appealled to the Treasury Board and would be dealt with again in June. He further expressed his hope that co-operation would be extended and that we could all accomplish more in this manner of negotiations, I expressed our frustration over the years in attempting to get the Shaughnessy-Lougheed problems solved and he simply asked us not to expect him to be able to solve things in 5 months that had been around so long.: He further expressed his hope that a good working relationship could be established between his office and our Council. I thanked him for his prompt response to our "outburst", This is for your information. M.A. Thompson
