October 5, 1987 /253 The following people were present at the Zoning Public Hearing and expressed their views on the proposed rezoning; Mrs. Aw Dey, #101-2245 Wilson Avenue stated her objection to a building nigher than 2245 Wilson as they were told that the new building would only be three storeys high: a four storey building would block out sunlight for people living on the east side of 2245 Wilson Avenue. Mrs. Dey also mentioned her concern for parking problems as the new complex would only supply parking for 8 vehicles. Mr. G. McGinnis, a member of the Elks Club of Port Coquitlam, stated the benefits of subsidized housing for Seniors as we!! as the convenience of the location for shopping, buses and recreation, and that the new building would only be a couple of feet higher that the building at 2245 Wilson Avenue. Mrs. C. Blanchard, #206~-2245 Wilson Avenue who referred to the high density of the area and the severe parking problems already being experienced. Mr. J» Blowers, 3396 Handley Crescent, spoke of the need of many seniors for housing that is affordable on a very limited income, and the convenience of the location for handicapped seniors. Ms. S. Seager, Real Estate Agent, 1185 Dominion, wanted to be placed on the ‘ecord that she had never said it was to be a three storey building; but had spoke of a 40 unit building. Mrs. E. Webber, #310-2245 Wilson stated that she was told by Real Estate Agent Mr. Chan that the building would be three storeys. Ms. M. Jackson, #204-19041 Ford Road, Pitt Meadows, Applicant for the new building who spoke of the need for many seniors to have a nice place to retire to when they you find themselves in a situation where they cannot keep their own homes. Mr. B. Sutter, 1745 Langan Avenue, who referred to Mr. McGinnis's statement that the building would only be two feet higher than 2245 Wilson Avenue and so would not be @ problem as far as blocking light was concerned, The Public Hearing adjourned at 8:25 DMs Certified fair and accurate, ELK Deputy City Clerk
