De, . Alderman Ranger voted against the resolution. Prior te passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger advised. that. the proposed parking lot was not very high on his priority list, and stated his view that only the aisles should be constructed. Alderman Ranger also suggested that the possibility of installing speed bumps at the parking lot should be investigated, and the Gity Engineer agreed, stating h he felt . _ this would be an ideal place for speed bumps to be installed. Alderman Thompson stated he would like ta see a bowling green constructed in close proximity to the Recreational Facility for senior citizens, and that he would like assurance that this will be pursued. Alderman Laki ing stated the, Commit- tee had not had an opportunity to study this aspect, but he. assured Alderman | Thompson his suggestion would be considered, From the Health Committee, June 2ist, 1974, advising for information, that Mrs. Marlene Leggatt had spoken to the Committee on the operation of the Family Planning Clinic which operates in conjunction with the Simon Fraser Health Unit, supported by volunteer workers and local doctors, and that the programme consists of an education program in family planning; also, counselling advice te young people and young married couples. Mrs. Leggatt informed the Committee that the > object of the group is to try to incorporate some course into the school curriculum although she cautioned that the move required a realistic programme and the right kind of teacher; also, that the clinic might be incor porated as part of the new hospital ‘facility provided thac che hospital could supply the consultive and on-going counselling work | that is presently being carried on by the clinic. From the Health Committee, June dist, 1974, advising that at its meet- ing held on June Ilth, 1974, Mrs. MM. Angus, the City's Tepresentati ive on ‘the Coquitlam Hospital Board, introduced Mr. Lloyd O'Toole, the new hospital ad- ministrator, who commented on the progress in the Coquitlam Hospital which, at the present time, centres around completion of the review of the Func tlon- ~ al programme for the hospital, and he advised that he is presently working with the Professional Practices Committee of the G.V.R.H.D., and that this clase liaison should produce a workable functionable plan whieh wid be acceptabie to the G.V.R.H.D. when the review is completed; also, that arch- itects will be appointed for the. design of the building after a functional plan has been reviewed and adopted. The Committee, in its report, Teferred to some discussion last | year on the Provision for maternity care at this ne hespital facility, and that Mrs. Angus advised the decision on this question
