BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: Upon reviewing the concerns raised by citizens regarding the attendance of City Council at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities' conventions, this Committee is recommending the attached policies. The major areas of change are: 1. Only two elected officials attend either convention. 2. A reduction in the maximum daily expenses which are permitted to be reimbursed without specific Council approval. 3. A written report on the work performed by the delegation at the convention be attached to Council Agenda for the meeting two week after return. 4.
