Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Thompson inquired whether there was any assurance that the completed building would leek like the plans, and Mayor Campbell advised that there are no requirements for the duplex to be built in accord with the new plans; however, construction of a duplex on that site could be rejected. é Bldg.& Prot.Comm. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, a discussion ensued, and in answer to a query from Alderman Keryluk, the City Engineer advised with respect to a break-down of costs to renevate the Aggie Hali, that the cost of painting is estimated at $10,000.00, with the cost of preparation therefore being $25,000.00; further, the cost of windows, jambs and glass would be $6,000.00; $5,000.00 to re-do the kitchen area; $5,000.0C to look after gutters and downpipes; $6,000.00 to look after all doors not covered by the Consultant's report; $10,000.00 to repair flooring on the main and second level; $10,000.00 to re-roof - for a total of $77,000.00, plus 20% for contingencies. Alderman Traboulay stated he felt it was a great shame chat the building was Jet run down, and that he was very critical of the estimates for renovation. Alderman Traboulay further pointed ovt that the Aggie Hall is the cnly old "heritage' building that exists in the City, and that in his view the building is still restorable;
