Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That as requested by the Port Coquitlam Marlins Swim Club, May 28th, 1979 the two day Swim Meet to be held at Centennial Pool on June 30th, and July Ist, 1979 be recognized and designated as an ‘annual function’ for the purpose of application for a Beer Garden liquor licence. Carried. NEW BUSINESS: Mayor J.M. Campbell and members o% Council expressed their appreciation to May Day Coordinator, Mrs. Doris Buxton, for the May Day festivities May 25th, 26th and 27th, 1979. Alderman Traboulay asked for clarification on the future use of the Welcher Avenue Dump and also the Terra Nova Landfill and asked that the Public Works Committee investigate this matter. Alderman Wright advised he and Mayor Campbell attended the Chamber opinion it was very successful. Alderman Mabbett advised the May Day Co-ordinator will be presenting a report to Council on the May Day events in the next few weeks.
