February 17th, 1975 From the Public Works Committee, February 14th, 1975, advising that the Garbage By-law has been reviewed as instructed by Council, and although the Committee is unable to provide any short term resolution to the Woodside Estates problem, it will continue to work on an overall solution and present it to Council at the earliest possible date. Alderman Traboulay stated he understood from the meeting at which the delegation from Woodside Estates was present, that an attempt would be made to solve the problem by consultation with the residents, ravher than confrontation. Alderman Ranger advised that the matter has bren discussed with the residents. Alderman Mabbett pointed out that the Committee cannot take only one phase of a very major problem and solve it; however, Mayor Campbell suggested the Committee should make sure the people involved are aware of their position in this regard. From the Leisure Activities Committee, February 14th, 1975, advising for information that the Winter Wind-Up Carnival will be held from March 21st to March 23rd, 1975, being one the the annual events where rental charges are waived by resolution of Council; however, a Teen Moccasin Dance is to be held in one arena, and all the rules and regulations set down by the Recreation Department must be followed for that event and further, that it be noted to the Winter Carnival Committee that there is to be No Smoking on the ice. From the Leisure Activities Committee, February 14th, 1975, stating that in order to complete varicus schedules of the different organizations who use the arenas, as well as the City's own Department programs, it will be necessary to keep the ica in the new arena until April 15th, 1975; however, the ice in the old arena will be removed after the Winter Wind-up Carnival. From the Leisure Activities Committee, February 14th, 1975, submitting a letter from Mr. Wally Wingrove, January 7th, 1975, advising of efforts being made to secure a "Senior B" lacrosse franchise so graduating Juniors will have a place to go to play further lacrosse, and requesting the use of one of Port Coquitlam's arenas on Tuesday evenings from 8:30 /5.
