THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0 U N C MAR 1§ 1978 March 16th, 1979 | FOR COUNCIL ONLY TO: ; Mayor, and Council FROM: Leisure Activities Committee ITEM NO. 1 — Parks Reserve Work The Committee has discussed three items of work that need to be done in our local parks and that the monies required to do the work be taken from the Parks Reserve Fund. RECOMMENDATION That monies be allocated for the following item: 1. Automatic Sprinklers - City Halli Park and Lions Park - $9,000.00 It is felt that by installing automatic sprinklers, that labour costs will be reduced. 2. Backstops — McLean and Cedar Drive Parks — $5,000.00 There have been problems at both these parks with baseballs going into peoples yards and it is hoped that by fixing the backstop at Cedar Drive Park and the S.W. diamond at McLean, that this problem will be alleviated. 3. Fence south of McLean Park -— $8,000.00 During the soccer season, the balls have been kicked into back yards, often times destroying plants etc. It is intended to erect a fence along the full length of McLean Park at the south end to solve this problem.
