APPEXDIZ I Proposed Amendments to "Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw, 1987, No. 2240" (To revise floodproofing regulations) Replace Section 507 with the following: "S07. FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT (1) The provisions of this section shall apply to all areas within the floodplain of the Coquitlam, Pitt and Fraser Rivers as shown in Schedule """, which is attached to and forms part of this Bylaw. For the purposes of this section only, tha following definitions shall apply: “Natural Boundary" means the visible high-water mark of any lake, river, stream, or other body of water where the presence and action of the water are so common and usual, and so long continued in all ordinary years, as to mark upon the soil of the bed of the lake, river, stream or other body of water, a character distinct from that of the banks thereof, in respect to vegetation, as well «s in respect to the nature of the soil itself. "Watercourse" is any natural or man-made depression with well-defined banks and a bed 600 mm (2.0 feet) or moce below the surrounding land serving to give direction to a current of water at least six months of the year or having a drainage area of 2.6 km“ (1.0 square mile) or more. “Habitable Floor Elevation" refers to the geodetic elevation recommended by the Ministry of Environment for the purposes of floodproofing. Notwithatanding the definition in Section 101 of this Bylaw, “Habitable Room" in this section includes rooma used for cooking, eating, sleeping, or human occupancy, and bathrooms and utility rooms. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Bylaw, the underside, or in the case of a concrete floor slab the top aside, of the lowest floor of a residential building or atructure to be used for habitaticn, or the ground level on which a mobile home or unit is located, shall not be lower than the habitable floor elevations specified on Schedule "B". cont. page 2 Ted Teac 7 | |44
