21h, tenet ary THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO: City Administrator February 9, 1987 FROM: City Engineer SUBJECT: Sandfill in Meridian Industrial Park Recommendation: That the City accept the Beedle Group's offer for sandfil| on the strip of City land between their property and the dyke and that the City agree itn principie to the use of this property by owners of the adjacent industria} parcels for storage, subject to an agreement being reached with the City and covered by a section 215 covenant on the lands, for the following items: 1. Subject to no fencing being placed closer than ten feet from the new toe of the slope. 2. Subject to the agrsement giving the City continued right to access to all of Its property I¢ necessary for Purposes of maintenance or construction. 30 Subject to the properties having no direct accass to the dyke. 4. Subject to the developer not creating any drainage problems by the placing of the fill. Background and Comments: The attached letter from the Beedie Group refers to a strip of land betwean the boundary of the Meridian Industria! Park Subdivision and the actual toe of the City's dyke. The letter requests the right to use this strip of land In return for the strip being filled to the same level as the rest of the Industrial properties. Tals strip of land currently contains a ditch draining the industrial property but this ditch wil! not be required once the property Is developed since storm sewers would be Installed as a condition of development. Fill in this strip would enhance the City's property as It would reduce the fength of slope on the dyke which has to be maintalned and would provide support behInd the dyke. 2
