The Toffy Idol Contest is open to Vancouver Island residents attending or enrolled in
grades K to 12. This talent contest aims at showcasing the musical talents of Vancouver
Island Francophone, French Immersion and FSL students during Nanaimo’s annual Maple
Sugar Festival du Sucre d’Erable. Participants must register by January 30th, 2008.
Candidate selection will be announced on February 9th 2008.

AGE/GRADE CATEGORIES CONTEST RULES

- Junior: rades 4 to = 9 to 12 years :

Vocalists must provide their own accompaniment or
back-up music
- Live accompaniment is restricted to a maximum of 3

PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES musicians playing piano, guitar, bass, percussion, brass

(1 category per contestant) or woodwind instruments only. No back-up singers.

The TIC* has the right to place a contestant into a different
age or grade category with a flexibility of 1 year/1 grade.

- Solo Vocal: songs must be performed in French — :
