The winner is the first to climb to the top and ring the bell and return to the ground. 5—TIMBER! Pole falling event is a test of the faller’s skill and speed with the axe. The contestants to win must be first to fell his pole on top of the wooden stakes seen in the foreground. 6—NOVICE BURLING. This event proved popular with the large crowd that turned out to enjoy the Sports Day. he proceeds go to some 7—LOG CHOPPING.
