Attached is a memorandum from the City Engineer regarding a Solid Waste Conference

in Inglewood, California during this month. The information contained in this

seminar is very timely and I believe that it would be to our advantage to have some~
one attend this conference. As you can see from Mr. Borch's memo, due to the shortage
of time, we have made arrangements for.transportation and { would recommend that we
approve his attendance at this conference with expenses paid.

Parks and Recreation Conference. Council will recall that Janna Taylor did not attend
the Regional Recreational Conference in Portland this year in preference to attending
the Annual Conference of the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association in Winnipeg

on August llth to 15th. I would recommend that her attendance at this conference be
approved and her expenses paid.

Public Works Association Conference. The annual conference of the Public Works
Association of B.C. will be held in Kamloops on September llth to 13th, 1974. We

have generally sent the Engineer and Public Works Superintendent to tris conference
and I would therefore ask Council's approval to send Mr. Dave Lockwood the Deputy
Engineer and Mr. George Ulmer, Public Works Superintendent to this conference and that

their expenses be paid.
