\) Wy td: Sa nd Tak AEE ~2- The plan, for the parksite, now includes a major water feature, picnic area, playground apparatus for preschool and elementary school aged children, washroom facilities, open area for games, an outdoor classroom, paved paths, lighting along the paths, an all sports paved area, a skateboard paved area and picnic tables The Parks & Recreation Committee is very excited about this plan and have met to review the plan with the initial group of residents. ‘The Schoolboard is also in support of this plan. On March 16, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. a public information meeting was heid at the Wilson Centre for interested residents to review the plan. It was an extremely successful evening with seventy-three people attending, Brian Guzzi and Kevin Smith, (from Genstar), were also in attendance to present the plans. The Recreation Manager/Deputy Director and I spoke to many residents and they were extremely pleased with the concept. The only repeated concern was that they would like to see fewer trees and more lighting on the pathways. This concern is being reviewed by Brian Guzzi and the appropriate adjustments will be made to the plan. Comments from the information meeting are attached. Once Council has approved the plans, working drawings will be made. The tender will be called in June with construction to being in July. the Parks & Recreation Committee is very pleased with the process used and is confident that the residents, in the area, are supportive of the plans for this park. ) xT e neem a a a Taylor arks & Recreation Director JT/pg Tor gu:
