Four large humpers of provisions ar-
rived on Friday oafternoon’s freight to
be distributed locally on behalf of the
1.0.D.E, of Anyox. The hampers. con-
sisted of Christmas fare and staple ar-
tices. Cons. McKenney looked after
the distribution, The goods were car-
tied freight free from Anyox by the
«, N. R. as were also the parcels ear-
Her in the holiday season. The’ cloth-
ing reported received from the Anyox
1, 0. D. BE. last week was prepared and

The assistance rendered by the I, 0,
TD. E. and Boy Scouts of Anyox and the
I. O. D. E. of Prince Rupert in provid-
ing: Christmas: cheer has once again
demonstrated how the people of ‘the
north seek to help each other in times
of stress. With distances so great it
is not possible for Anyox and Terrace
people to meet very often, but during
the simmer Lakelse Lake attracts 2

report comes to hand from the judge
of those pigs, Mr, T. G. Stewart, of the
Dominion Live ‘Stock Branch, and as
the judge gives the boys and girls con-
siderable encouragement, we are going

to publish his report also.

Mr, Stewart says:—I was pleased to
examine the essays of the Swine Club
meinhers at ‘Terrace, Having judged
the pigs of this elub, it brought back to
mind my pleasant but short Visit to
Terrace. Unfortunately the first snow
of the season was on, being a little too
eutly, which no-dotthbt disappointed 2
good munher."” The boys and girls: of
the-club avere still attending to their
charges With utmost care. .
In examining the final scoring I see
Gertrude MeConnell ig first. I remem-
ber the pigs well, a fine, pair, the fe-
nile -a.tine specimen, and pleased to
to note that it has been sold for breed-
ing purposes. The hog was a trifle
thick of shoulder, but a fine porker.

has ever had,. but I hope they are not

hopes of having some baby pigs next

he has learned how pigs should be fed
and cared for. His pigs did look as if
their owner did know how to feed and
tare for them. He has.confidence in

snys that this was the fourth time she
had been a member of the Swine Club,

He concludes his essay by saying that
