Me. George Robertson was present at the. meti ng to , discuss his proposal to paint

formerly known as ‘the Dewdney ‘Trunk Road. “His Worship: the Mavor welconed Mee

Robertson to the meeting and invited him to: Aisplay his work. Mr. Robertson show-

ed ‘the Couriei a painting he had already ‘coupleted ‘of the old Dewdney Trunk area

West of the. Rallway’ bridge, whieh he stated he had : done by copying old photographs,
as there ; are no origi inal butldings Left of what had: been the basic. part of the

City during the 1909- “1917 era, and ‘that the “painting is as authentic as was possible
“to produce at this time. “Alderman Ranger inquired what he would consider an accep~

table price for his’ painting, and Mr. ‘Robertson advised that he valued it between

: $125 .00 and. $150.00. |

be purehased from Me. “George Robertson for. the sum of $150. 06. Carried.

members of Council generally expressed an. interest in having a series of histori-

al. scenes of the City painted by ‘Mr. Robertson. Alderman Ranger suggested that

perhaps sone. old photographs stored at. ‘the ire all would be useful for thie pur~

pose, and. the city Clerk was requested to arrange to show these to Mr. Robertson.
