SUBJECT: Painting of Street Light Poles on Shaughnessy Street
Public Works Committee - April 1, 1986

Recommendation:

That the street light poles on Shaughnessy Street be painted
blue matching the railing and the lamp standards on the Kingsway
Bridge.

Background and Comments:

Repainting of the street light poles on Shaughnessy Street
has been requested by the Merchants Association and Is also Included
In the Public Works Malntenance budget for 1986. The merchants have
requested blue and the Committee concurs with this request. The
colour of the street Iight poles on Kingsway near the bridge has been
wall recelved by those who have commented on it. \t serves to dress
up the street in the same way that banners or decorations would do.
It 1s a cheerful colour compared to the boring dark green which Is
usually used. The Committee therefore recommends that the repainting
of the street lights on Shaughnessy Street be done in biue.
