She’s up against rower Kirsten Barnes and wrestler Chris Wilson. The 24th annual awards banquet is set for March 3 at Vancouver. Ter- race’s Dr. Paul Clark missed ‘Sport B.C.’ [ out on a nomination in the ‘Disabled Athlete’ category. Hendry paced the female Clan to a tournament victory on three straight wins. For that-effort she | was handed the tourney’s most valuable player award. =: ~ Returning home last week, she learned that the east coast trip earned her the National Associa- -tion of Intercollegiate Athletics’ Player-of-the-Week award for district one. The Bahamas tournament was a ‘piece of cake’ for. the Clan ladies as they posted easy vic- tories in all three matches. They started with a 77-46 win over Judson College of Illinois. ‘Michelle had 29 points, plus . seven rebounds, two assists and eight steals. Next was a semi-final triumph against the host Bahamas Na- tionals. In the 87-64 win, Michelle scored 19 points, counted 11 rebounds, three assists and four steals. The championship game against Oklahoma Baptist Col- lege saw her produce 31 points and pick up 11 rebounds. Her tournament totals of 79 points and 29 rebounds were an exceptional effort. Michelle is currently second in both district scoring average 4. (18.94) and field goal percentage (57.21). The first place player in both. these categories is 19, 78 and 57.43. oe The ‘team has.” an overall ° season record of 12 wins, five losses so far.
