dates for mailing Christmas
card and parcels.
Even though parcels can
always be sent by air, the
cheapest way is still by surface,
but the Canada Post Dffice
wishes to remind its customers
one ounce which automatically
means air mail service..: Air
‘mail stickers should be used on
the envelopes. - =
Unsealed cards, however, can
be sent air mail al the rale of 12
cents up to one ounce, or sur:
face at the rate of & cents up to
one ounce. Cards ‘sent by
.., surface may slili- be airlifted
part way or through to

U.S.A, are 6 cents for surface,

Hazards over the distriet
have remained in the low to
moderate range for most af the
week. The Bella Coola area has
been the exception where high
ta extreme hazard ralings
persist.. Unpreducted high 1o
extrema winds were ex-
perienced Tuesday afternoon
and Wednesday in the Interior-
regions. |.
Seventeen new fires were
reported bringing our yearly:
lotal to 140. Of these, fourteen
burned slash areas.
The unpredicied high 10 ex-
treme winds . which occurred
