INTER OFFICE MEXMO Mayor and Aldermen DATE: December 6th, 1974) R. A. Freeman, City Clerk CoCo fr fl U Re: Petty Cash Bank Account ‘DEC - 9 1974 We believe the Treasurer has discussed with the Finance Committee the desirability of establishing a Petty Cash Bank Account with our bankers so that cheques for small amounts could be prepared bearing only one signature vather than the two Signatures required on the City's General Bank Account, Additionally, the Treasurer has suggested that since the Social Assistance Account is no longer in active use (Social Assistance payments now being made by the Province) it would be wise to re-institute the requirement for dual signing of cheques drawn on this account.. To accomplish both these objects we would suggest that the Council give consideration to the following resolution: "That the proviso contained in Section 2 of the resolution passed at a regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam held on January 14th, 1974, pertaining to bank signing authority be repealed and the following substituted therefor: . "PROVIDED that cheques drawn on the Payroll Account or the Petty Cash Bank Account need only be signed by one of the above-noted persons." teen City Clerk
