THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM

serves the Mary Hill area which has an alternate source of
supply from the Penny Place pump station. Indeed, during

the summer months, Mary Hill is served exclusively from the
Penny Place pump station during peak demand periods because
the other supply does not provide enough pressure. It is
therefore not a serious problem to have the Kingsway watermain
cut off except in the event of a power failure to the Penny

Place pump station.

The Conmittee recommends that the contractor be
allowed to cut off the watermain prior to completion of our
main if this becomes necessary providing that he supplies a
Standby generator for use at our Penny Place pumping station
for the duration of the period during which the Kingsway main

is cut off.
