recording star since the

mid-1950’s. and recently

earned new: fame for his.

work in Canadian country
music.

‘Although | he “ig oan
American, Hamilton has
released five Canadian
content albums including
many Gordon. Lightfoot
compositions. He is best
known for. the popular

‘recordings Canadian

Pacific,. Blue Jeans and

‘Bubble Gum, and Dirty Old

Man.

He has won awards as the
top U.S. male singer for 1971
and JUNO awards for
promotion of Canadian
music.

Hei is probably the biggest

name performer ever to
appear here and fair
organizers are proud of
their feat in booking him but
also a little nervous.

They: won’t disclose how
much the Hamilton show is
“costing, but association
president Chuck Stone said
the sum is “substantial”
' and good crowds are needed
to make a profit. -

Admission at the door will
be $6; advance tickets will
sell for $5.
