Vander Zalm, Minister of Human Resources, commending and thanking him for the reduction in municipal expenditures for social services during the current fiscal year and indicating that further relief would be welcome and is anticipated. During discussion of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger referred to recent Federal Anti-Inflation Board salary roli-backs and expressed the opinion that if such actions were being taken by the Board it was necessary for Council to institute a programme for monitoring the costs of goods and services to the City to ensure that any increases in costs during the past year do not exceed the 10% allowable uider the A.I.B. guidelines.
