That Council approve the installation of a standard catch basin and the lead in the pe
boulevard in front of 1680 Coquitlam Avenue at a cost of $3,500. ,

That $3,500 be allocated from the Public Works Special Capital Reserve Fund for this
purpose.

The Public Works/Traffic Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Project
Technician describing the drainage problem in front of 1680 Coquitiam Avenue along with
alternate solutions for correcting the problem.

In the past, rain water runoff was accommodated by a combination of scaking into the ground
and draining to an existing catch basin to the eastside of this property. In 1991, the road surface
on.Coquitlam Avenue was repaved and the shoulder was reconstructed. The water now ponds
and drains towards the residence. |

Constructing a swail at this location would result in an uneven surface and future maintenance
costs. It is therefore recommended that a catch basin and lead be installed in front of 1680

Coquitlam Avenue.
